Is it time to stop writing your affirmations and start living them?

A dear soul asked me a great question the other day.

"Should I keep writing affirmations in my Gratitude Journal?"

I replied

"Start living your gratitude everyday and you won't need to keep writing about it"

Of course writing in a (gratitude) journal is always useful however, there comes a time when we need to start embodying gratitude. A time when we must simply take gratitude out of our ink and journal and onto the pages of our real time life.

Wonder is a great doorway to living daily gratitude. Wonderment for delightful expressions of life. Simple things like flowers, sunlight, raindrops, a surprise, the antics of a creature, the joy of a smile shared with a stranger, a sad moment shared with someone who cares. Anything really. (Julie Andrews does a great version of this in My Favourite Things, lyrics below!)

Wonder for the majesty and miracle of life with all its perceived highs and lows is a profound lead in to gratitude which will take your breath away and melt your heart. And it's catchy!

So dear hearts, I urge you to make like a bright and joyous child and look through these kind of eyes as often as you can.

Much love

My favourite things by Julie Andrews, The Sound of Music
Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells
And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
